Desert Rock Sprite

Traits: Inhabiting very hot countries with little or no water or plant life, the Desert Rock Sprite is a tough creature. The large leaf shaped appendages on their head help to store water, and their large wings can cool them down in high temperatures. For the most part, they hide under rocks and crevices within the desert. They are part nocturnal, and hunt out beetles and small lizards during the night. They are hard to spot in the golden sands, and can bury themselves easily. They are usually golden in colour, with hints of red in places.

Regions: Most common in the Sahara and Gobi deserts, but found throughout Asia.
